I went with the LT and a dual 3" with an X-pipe and I noticed a big difference. Although I did swap the whole motor at the time. I have no cats either. Do you notice that your car alwayse smells rich w/o the cats. Maby I can't help you. Sorry

I changed form shorties to Hooker long tubes and a mufflex 4" exhaust with a mufflex 3" y-pipe, and I noticed a night and day difference. The only proablem I have is ground clearence, since my car is lower than stock.

hookers

Granted i have a much different engine, but in any case a long tube equal or tuned lengthe header with a collector will make much more power than shorties....im glad you liked the result....I have hooker super comp headers with 1-3/4 primaries with 3" collectors, and dual 3"exhaust with flowtech mufflers, it works pretty good......

i have clearance problems as well, due to the weird design of my exhaust....it comes off the collector, runs through the south side machine cross member for the lift bars (about mid car) underneath the axle, and the mufflers fit up in the slots for the stock tail pipes. my car is stock height and they hit sometimes.....but thats just something i have to live with....my brothers car has the same setup, except for the cross member thing and with 2" exhaust, and his has never hit before

383back. What do you run? Your set up sounds about the same as mine. Are your head flow numbers better than mine? Is your cam about the same size? I was just wondering because I was contemplating a carb and manifold swap. I wanted to see if I was giving up much with my FI system.

hmm

lethalracer...

the car has run a best of 12.7 due to some gearing problems and lack of time/money to get the setup tuned. the car isnt setup right yet, but the motor hammers.

I try to keep my cam numbers partially secret lol as thats part of what makes the motor wild...but the secret is 2-fold, cam and valve train, and the heads....i forget the numbers off the top of my head, but if you go to AFR's website they have them posted for the heads.....they are the 210cc heads with the full cnc port job. (not cheap but excellent) they outflow everything else on the market.

the cam has over 300 deg of duration and .640 lift at the valve on the intake and exhaust side.

oops

PS the carb rocks, and i may switch to a super victor manifold, afr claims i could gain as much 40 HP on the top end.....however id lose some low end torque which im not sure im willing to do

I have the CNC AFR 210's. All I did was a bowl blend and back cut the valves and they flow almost 300cfm int@.600 and 261cfm exh@.600. So I agree that they rock. Good luck getting every thing dialed in.

forgot to mention...

lethal racer, i forgot to mention.....the heads have also had a multi angle valve job, chambers cc'd to 64cc's, and they have been angle cut 0 to .125

the only thing that sucks is the heads are way expensive...i cant wait to get my hands on the BBC ones for my 454...ooh baby
