Angry Hole In My Dash???

Today i was just observing the interior of my passenger compartment ( 92 camaro rs ), tryin to figure out how i am going to have to disassemble the center counsel to fix my stereos positioning when i noticed a hole on the underside of my dash. It is in the lefthand corner closest to the front of the far on the passenger side, just before the counsel meets the dash. It is a little plastic rectangle with a hole in the middle where i can see up into part of my dash. Does anyone know if this is ment to be there or if someone was messing with the car before I bought it?

If its the one right above the radio then its a little light the provides ambient light onto the radio at night. I have yet to see one that actually works.

well where the hole is, there would be no light shining on the radio but rather it would shine out into the passenger compartment, aimed at the passenger side floor. There is also no bulb there and i dont see any wire hook-ups so i wouldnt be sure. If you were sitting in the driver seat, and you ran right hand from right to left on the deepest part of the dash, You would feel the hole right before your hand hit the console. Maybe someone can " shed a little light " on this situation...
