Having problems with 350 replacement engine/TPI
Re: Having problems with 350 replacement engine/TPI
I am in southern Texas where it seems hot all year round, no offense if it is cold there though. At least it is not a cracked block or heads but probably a blown head gasket then I assume. What can I do to prevent this next time even with all of the compression.
Re: Having problems with 350 replacement engine/TPI
Install the original ECM and and PROM in the vehicle. Unless you installed a radical cam, the engine should idle and run fine with the stock chip. Once you get your calibrations and timing back to spec everything should run fine. After you get all your base settings back together then you can worry about a new chip to handle the procharger.
Re: Having problems with 350 replacement engine/TPI
The Hypertech adds timing, and the last thing you want with a supercharger and pump gas is a lot of timing. It sounds like either a head gasket didn't seal to begin with, or you let the motor detonate and it blew a gasket. Hopefully you didn't hole a piston or crack the head.
