what kind of handling numbers can i expect from my z28? its basically stock. im having an argument with a local bmw x3 owner who thinks his car can outhandle mine. it wouldn't suprise me (f-body's arent the greatest handlers) but what kind of numbers would a sock 3rd gen put down in the slolem and skidpad?

 

Well a bone stock '85 IROC could pull a .91 on the skidpad; not too bad. F-Bodies are actually pretty damn GOOD handlers. ESPECIALLY the IROC's/Formula's/TTA's/GTA's, etc..
And when modded, F-Body's are top notch (third gen and fourth gen's anyhow)

Just goes to show you how greatly misinformed some people can be. When I hear "my fwd will rape your rwd in corners", I just smile as I think of my LSD rear, front and rear sway bars, control arms, panhand bar...

 

yeah this guy is a douche...i pretty much burned him explaining that my car has more hp/tq at lower rpm's and weighs 1000lbs less and i mentioned about pulling .91 on the skidpad and basically he told me it didn't matter...his brand new german car can beat any old american one and then he closed down the thread before i could reply.

Those big a$$ed SUV's have 184 horsepower and are made to carry people not race. That guy's an idiot

RWD cars OWN awd in most everything. If you know how to launch, a RWD will decimate an awd car. And if you know how to properly drive a rwd car, you can hang with or even beat an awd car in the twisties.
