good or bad choice

i currently drive an 86' IROC. its all stock 305TPI. but i am soon to have my 4-banger for good gass milleage to get me to school. i am wanting to make my camaro a better street ride. here is my idea. they made this engine combo in the August chevy high performace magazine on page 70. its a 355 with vortec iron heads and dished pistons. RPM airgap intake, .300 and .400 valve lifts. comp Xtreme energy XE268 flat tappet hydraulic cam. 224/230 degrees duration @ .050 tappet lift. 110 degree lobe seperation angle. intake and exhaust lifts of .477/.480. it was fed by a 750 cfm barry grant w/ mechanical secondaries.

does this sound like a pretty good combo.. i am still in college and am on a but of a budget. is there any places i could save money and keep performance. are there anything you guys would change ??? remember its to move my 86 IROC. thanks for the help. ryan

You won't get very good milage w/ a carb over TPI. I only bring this up because you said you'll be driving a 4cyl for milage. 305's shouldn't be that bad on milage anyway.

Personally, I'd keep it fuel injected w/a 350 or stroker.
