god i hope i got 26 splines

god i hope i got 26 splines

well i got all my parts 26 spline carrier, hope its 26 spline in there. should be its an 87, somebody told me it has been changed the whole rear. hope it has 26 spline when it was replaced. the guy said it has a yellow paint marking on the houseing wonder what the hell this is. lets hope for the best. anything to add.

my stock posi 87 carrier had yellow paint in a "X" on it too...

1990 was the year 28 splines were used. Late 1989 cars "may" have 28 splines. Everything older as long as it's a 10 bolt has 26 splines.

When in doubt and buying it from say Jegs or Summit, buy both and return one.

Yeah but that means you are now going to have the oil all out and cannot drive it till you have done the job. Motivation for doing the job, I suppose.

are you doing gears as well?
If not, hopefully you got the right series carrier for the gearset you already have.

You could find or order some 28 spline axles from a 90-92 and use them in your older diff. Or is that the next project?

well i dont have to worry about the axels this week anyway, looks like mother nature is gonna be a fuc*in c *nt again this spring. all it ever does is fuc*kin rain, so i had to cancel my rebuild apointment for tommrow, then i look at the 8day forcast and rainnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn a fuc*in gan for next wensday when my new appointment is sceduled. typical women does whatever she wants no matter what man says. fu*kkkkkkkk spring

What has the rain got to do with your appointment? Are you working on it outside?

no i have to drive it there, and it has to spend a night out side, and the cars showroom condition i dont like the idea of leaving it out there, the interior is in show room condition to and the t tops leak. i already went thru this at the same garage last fall, wont do it again. all new gaskets to and caulked
