Gas in Charcoal Canister

The black canister behind the driver side head light is filled with gas. I took it apart and its leaking gas from the hose to the gas tank. This problem just came out of nowhere and its filled the entire canister and is leaking out the vent port in the top of the canister. Anyone have any idea why this would be happening ?

Thanks for the help.

No, the canister is on the fuel return line to the gas tank.

You will just have to get another cannister, I think.

No....the canister is on the vapor line to the tank for one thing ...second if he buys a new canister before the purge valve problem is adressed it`ll fill with gas too
