what is the best way to fix an oil leak?
i got my engine all together, it leok beautiful runs awesome, but i have a problem, it leaks oil! it is coming out of the pass side where the timing cover meets the oil pan and the block, it has yet to leak a quart but it makes a hella mess on the side of my car. what would be the bast way to fix it until i ge a chance to pull the engine and replace the gasket. i heard of this stuff that is like quiksteel that uses oil as the activating agent, i think its called type-O something? anyone know what im talking about or have any ideas?

I would recommend just removing the timing cover with the engine in the vehicle. It's should only take a couple of hours to pull the cover off and fix it properly. I could switch cams in my 85 Firebird and have it on the road in six hours. It's really not that bad. Until then I would recommend cleaning the area with brake cleaner and using some Mopar RTV. It's good stuff.
Good luck!
