A G92?

Ok. Got it. Go to this site above and it mentions the G92 was on the 5.0 and convertable only. G80 does refer to the axle on mine. The G92 option for 1987 350 is called B2L. Read under the picture of the hard top z.

Re: A G92?
so wait, if a 350 car has rear discs it means its a G92 car? I've got an 88 IROC with the 350tpi/A4 with discs in the rear. The console lid was changed and there is no RPO sheet in the rear compartment--unless its on the inside of the fender or something... Also, I heard that there is an RPO sheet on the underside of the passenger seat...does that hold any truth before i take out the seat?
And can i go to the dealership to get an RPO list via the VIN?

Second-The build sheet under the seat is a hit/ miss thing, so don't waste your time.
Third-The Dealer NO LONGER has that info in there system,
So why worry about it. a lot of things could have changed on that car if your not the original owner.

I am the 3rd owner, and the car is bone stock. Nothing was changed before i owned it except lower intake gaskets--and they were smart and got rid of the Torx bolts.
Also, reaching under the seat takes 4 seconds so i mean theres nothing else you can do in that time other than watch paint dry. And excuse me for not knowing that the dealer removes information after a certian amount of years.
Re: A G92?
I found my original build sheet on my last 3RD gen in the spare tire area. You might want to check in all the little compartments in the back. On the right where the spare is and the left where there is a little compartment that opens with a key.

G90 means posi not axle ratio
Axle ratio code has its own seperate RPO GM?
I am not really sure what G92 meant. I had an 87 IROC-Z 305/5 speed/3.45s, rear discs/engine oil cooler but no G92.
That site you quoted is not great. Lots of engine info listed for 87 is wrong.
There was no L69 5L HO carb engine--86 was the last year for that. Some hp/torque ratings are wrong as well.

Ok, to clear everything up...
-G80 means posi, nothing else. Does not mean axle ratio nor does it mean 9 or 10 bolt. Also, does not mean disk brakes.
-G92 means the car was optioned with a higher axle ratio than the standard ratio.
-There is a seperate RPO code that describes the ratio, such as GU6, GU5, GU2 and such. (example: G92, G80, GU5 are all on the same sticker, as compared to G80, GU2. Notice how the GU5 is a different gear along with the G92)
-G80, G92, and GUx all mean something different. They can be in any combination.
example: sticker 1 = G80, G92, GU5
sticker 2 = G80, GU2
sticker 3 = GU2

1991 Facts (as quoted from the "Camaro White Book")
RPO G92 required one of two engine combinations, the 305 LB9 with 5 speed manual, or the 350 L98(B2L) with auto trans. When ordered with A/C RPO G92 included engine oil cooler, 4 wheel disc brakes (except for a brief period when 4 wheel discs were deleted with a $287 credit), and dual converter exhaust. Also included 145 MPH speedometer. When ordered without A/C (1LE), G92 added heavy duty front brakes, aluminum driveshaft and spare wheel, special shocks and fuel pickup, and gas tank baffle. Fog lamps were deleted from the package for weight savings and improved cooling.
If it's a G92 without rear discs, build date would be around 2/91.
G92 RPO code means: performance axle ratio
G92 with auto trans would be 3.23 gears.

Re: A G92?
Well I found the RPO codes, here are some of the good ones I found.
FE2 - Suspension, Ride Handeling
GU6 - GU6 - AXLE, REAR 3.42 RATIO
G80 - AXLE, POSI-TRACTION, LIMITED SLIP
G92 - AXLE, PERFORMANCE RATIO, PERFORMANCE PACKAGE
J41 - BRAKE SYSTEM, POWER, FRONT DISK, REAR DRUM, CAST IRON
KC4 - COOLING SYSTEM, ENGINE OIL
K34 - CRUISE CONTROL, AUTOMATIC, ELECTRONIC
MK6 - TRANSMISSION, MANUAL 5 SPEED, BORG WARNER, 2.95 1ST, 0/D
MM5 - MERCHANDISED, TRANS, MANUAL 5 SPEED PROVISIONS
N10 - EXHAUST SYSTEM, DUAL CATALYTIC CONVERTER
R9W - DEFOGGER, REAR WINDOW, DELETE
UB3 - CLUSTER, INSTRUMENTS, OIL, COOL TEMP, VOLTS, TRIP ODOMETER, TACHOMETER
Of course there was more but they were all stupid stuff. Atleast I know now it is a G92 =P
