Unhappy Fuel Tank Help

This is for a 91 Firebird. I have a leak coming from the fuel tank. Not sure where it is from but I do see some rust and since we live in WI (salt roads) and I have a new Walbro pump in hand, I was thinking of replacing the fuel tank. What recommendations does anyone have as far as going aftermarket or GM? TIA.

These cars are notorious for leaking where the filler neck is welded to the tank....it's real easy to fix once you get the tank out. As far as changing the tank I have no clue who to get it from.

New Tank

I just looked in the yellow pages anfd called around until I found a new one. I also had a leak and decided to go with a new one vice having mine restores. I think that it cost $210 for a new one. Dropping the rear end and moving everything out of the way makes this a pain in the *** to accomplish. The dealer wanted 4 hours of labor and it took me 10 hours on my first try. Ensure that the tank is empty, gas i heavy when you are trying to drop the tank. Mine rusted at a bottom corner, the same area I'm assuming yours did. By new straps while you're at it. The piece of mind is worth it.
Good Luck.

Since your pulling it out you might as well see if you can geta baffled tank. Like the ones that came in the 1le. If it's just around the filler neck there is this plumers type puddy junk you can put on it and seal it up.

Seems like they have all been superceeded to 10269091 which is a one size fits all for the cars. Unless someone has a different opinion? TIA
