fuel injected V6 to Carbed 350

I have a friend that wants to buy the motor in my 79 truck. we are wanting to put it into his 87 camaro. the Qs is what all will we have to do. We are wanting to pull the complete motor. Oil pan to carb and all Acceries. PS,WP, ALT. And even the long tube headers. Will it fit? Will the motor mounts bolt right up? And what do we do about the computer. He has a 700r4 tranny.

Also how much should i ask Valve train and Water Pump has about 9000 miles Crank All barings has about 4000. Alt is new PS is new?

any older small block will fit into a thirdgen. You'll need new engine mounts for a v8(~$40) The 700r4 won't mount up to the v8. The 2.8L in the 87 is 60 degree bolt pattern, v8 is 90 degree bolt pattern so the bellhousing won't match. If you're going to a carb, you could take the computer out basically. It doesn't control the gauges, just stuff like o2 sensor and stuff like that. Get a good fuel regulator and use the efi fuel pump, it'll work better than the fuel pump on the block, just get a block off plate for that. Mark the wires going to the gauge panel when you pull those off. Everything else on the harness *can* be clipped, though if you don't feel comfortable doing that you can just tape them up.

New engine mounts will bolt into the original holes...except they go kind of at an angle and only 3 of the 4 holes get used. You'll see what I'm talking about when you put them on. I dunno about those headers though, they might fit but i don't know of any long tube headers that fit without some kind of mod.

So get a transmission with the correct bellhousing and hook them up. If you have any other questions let me know. Although I'm still fiddling with my transmission, I have done the swap. It's fun but alot of work.
