I filled up my tank last week and the needle went a little past full and hasn't back yet (two tanks later). Any ideas where to start without having to drop the tank. All the other gauges work fine.

You might try disconnecting the wires going to the gage and see what it does when you splice it up to a new fuel sending unit. If it works then you need to do a tank job. If not, go with the gage.
