First cruise with the 6 spd in the iroc

Well, after the tremec 5 spd to t56 swap, i have to say the first drive made it all worth it. The t56 mated with a B&M ripper shifter, centerforce clutch and aluminum driveshaft is a great combo. I love cruising at 75 mph with a 3.45 posi at 2000 rpms. I am still breaking it all in, but hopefully I will be gettin it to the track soon for some new bests. Anyone who is considering this swap should definitely go for it. Its kinda pricey but easy to do.

Special thanks to Paul my garage buddy who donated countless man hours to the project.

Yeah I loved the first time I went out with mine. I missed 3rd like 3 times that day under just normal driving I wasn't used to the close gearbox of the T-56.

The t5 was my first tranny, and the tremec was the second...and both are already sold. Hopefully this 6 spd is the last, and I think it will be. What are you 6 spd guys doing for a speedometer? I think Im going to do the cable x box, but dont know yet.

Are you happy with the cable x? My friend who did a lt1/t56 swap into his iroc has one and says it works fine, and the only prob is the needle bouncing around at low speeds. I think I will prob go with the x unless something new comes out before I order it.

Hey super83z,
What flywheel are you running with the 406-t56 combo. i am in the process of this same combo for my 87 and the only flywheel I can find is from centerforce. Is there any others? Just hate to drop 350 or so and find out there is another company that is cheaper. I can't wait to drive.

thanks
