engine finally going to the shop

Well I went down to talk to the guys today who are going to rebuild the bottom end of my engine & the price isnt to bad only $1500. to do everything including boring it .010 over so the engine is going in the next couple weeks.

thats awesome, why only .010 over?...mines well go more while your at it...you getting all forged parts or what?

There's no sense in boring a block more than you have to. It just means you won't be able to rebuild it in the future. The extra 5 cubic inches you get from a .030" overbore will not increase your power output, only make the cylinder walls thinner.

If you only have to punch it out .010" to get the holes straight, that's awesome.

yea that is true...this is a little off subject, but we just pulled my buddy's motor, and we found out it was bored to .060 over..what does that make it? a 358 or what?

Oh wait its going .030 over to make the engine a 355

360 I believe. That's about as far as you can take a stock 350 block and not tear through the cylinder walls.
