engine bogging when stepping on gas
engine bogging when stepping on gas
I have a 87 camaro with a 2.8l v-6. i was out driving in our first snow and i noticed when i went to give my car a little gas the rpm's went up and backed back down and reved up again and boggoged back down. now i know for sure it wasn't slipping in the snow. and i just put spark plugs and wires and the new cap and rotor in it 2 days ago. soo it don't need a tune up. and i doubt its the tranny cause trannny's don't typically bog they just plain out slip and this did not feel like a tranny slip..my grandmother said about using drygas to draw the moisture out of my fuel system because of it getting cold soo qquick. but it don't seem to do it when i have it in nuetral but i guess having the load on the engine makes a huge difference on how things act. but anyone got any other suggestions or should i go by my trusty wise grandmother..?
If it is doing it all the time I would clean the TB and change the fuel filter. And it would make your Grandmother feel really great if you added the drygas. It just might be part of it.
Also I had a V-6 Fiero that did this. it would stall out at lights and bog down when starting out. It turned out to be my Throttle Position Sensor. Its an easy do-it-yourself replacement if you have to go that route. Just do an internet search on where it is on your car. Usually right near the TB.
