electrical issue

this isn't my car, but my friend has a 3rd gen trans am, and her cd player won't work. she said a friend of hers went under her steering wheel and replaced a fuse, and then it worked, but only for a day, then it went out again.

any idea what it is and how to fix it? kinda vague i know, but any help would be appreciated.

Cigarette lighter.

Seriously....GM put the cig lighter and the radio on the same fuse for YEARS and the lighter sockets were bad about shorting out. The fuse would blow and the radio would stop working. There's a pretty good chance this is the problem if you keep blowing radio fuses.

Of course this is all assuming stock wiring....if someone put in an aftermarket stereo there's no telling how it's wired up.....
