Dynoing my car this weekend

Friday I'm going to the Eastern Nationals in Mooresville . They have a dyno session from like 12-6 I forget exactly what time. I'm going to dyno my car just for a baseline, so I know what I have now.
My question:
I have never been on a dyno or seen anyone dyno. Do I shift through all 5 gears? With my 305 TBI, what RPM should I bring it up to? Any other "1st Time Dynoer" advice? Thanks

Usually they have someone drive the car. But if you do it, here's what'll happen:
1. Get car on dyno
2. Strap car on dyno and hook ups.
3. Go through the gears to center wheels on rollers.
4. Re-tighten all the straps.
5. Drive car to 4th gear.
6. Push button and nail the gas.
7. Run it til redline and push button again(?), its been awhile so you might not have to push it again.
8. Put car in neutral and let the dyno stop the car, don't use the brakes.
9. Look at results.
10. Repeat 5-9

That should basically be it.

NEVER..............EVER......HIT THE BRAKES...

LOL

I'm assuming they'll have a dyno operator on hand if this company prides itself on dyno tuning. Goodluck

What would happen if you were to hit the brakes? Im guessing the dyno would throw your car forward? It would probably be pretty funny to see if it wasnt your car

I have a video of a Skyline on a 4WD dyno that almost jumps off the dyno. Pretty amazing to watch... E-mail me and I will send you the video if you want it.
