Post dyno #s for iroc-z

My 89 iroc with 350 TFW heads unported, very mild cam, 1.5rr, super ram, 52tb, 24#svo, LT hedman headers and 3.5 mufflex made 320hp390ftlbs at the wheel. The engine has 40k on it and has gone 12.7@111mph 3years ago and still does today. You can see the cam puke at 5000rpm i need a better cam but still very impressed with 390 torque at the wheel, makes for a great street car. This car has the factory chip in it also.

Burn yourself a chip and get some traction and you should be seeing 11's with relative ease...

Thumbs up

Nice numbers. Do we assume i still has a stock TPI intake manifold on it?? It would be cool to see what an aftermarket/higher rpm intake would do. HP would probably match your TQ numbers

TPI is a good setup... the torque numbers are usually a little higher for TPI setups... TPI's need big time traction though which means investing a lot in suspension and tires... which unfortunately is not usually something people do enough of it seems...

Lingenfelter has some cams for superram setups... might want to check what he offers out... LT4 Hotcam would probably work ok too...

Dude, burn a chip for yourself, I ran a 14.42 @ 96.1 mph about 3 weeks ago and did nothing other than burn a new chip with a factory .bin file called the infamous ARAP.bin. I netted a .7 drop in ET and 3+ mph 13.732 @ 99.30.

Say hello to 11's if you'd like with a new chip.

An LT4 Hotcam isn't a bad place to start out as far as a cam selection goes. You get 218/228 degrees of duration and .525" of lift with 1.6 rocker arms...If you use stock rocker arms it's in the .490 range

It's not HUGE but it should make ok power up in a powerband a little higher than a stock cam.

A lot of people say the Hotcam is tiny. Those guys go with something like a Comp Cam 306 cam....230/244 duration and .540" of lift...it pulls hard up top

What do you consider a "mild" cam? I'm running 13.5 @ 103.7 w/ a ZZ4 and ported stock TPI pieces, with everything else being almost identical to yours.

I have an LPE 219/219 cam for sale if you want it. It's the perfect match for the superram, and makes power to just over 5700 RPM.

That cam is far-and-away the most popular cam for Super Ram owners on the Corvette Forum, and some of the guys are making a ton of horsepower with their combos.

On 1.6 rockers, the LPE cam is .560/.560 lift. You may have to replace your valvesprings. This cam, with AFR heads and superram combo is a proven low 12sec/high 11second combo! I actually passed emmissions with this cam too :-). My cam is used with unknown mileage (I took it out of the motor myself after using it for 500 miles just for the emmissions test), but I can tell you it's in great shape. I'm not even sure what to ask for it. New, LPE wants $315 plus shipping...I think I'd sell it for $150 + shipping. The only thing you'll have to do to the cam is cut the dowel pin slightly shorter (I used it in an LT1 so the dowel pin needed to be longer to drive the opti-sprak).

Those are cool numbers, but I'm surprised you're getting 3 more MPH than me with the same HP. It must be the RPM thing, you're getting more with the SuperRam vs my peak at 4800 with long tube runners.
