Dropping the rear and lower control arm Q's

if you remove them is it hard to put them back, what is the process in removal of the rear contol arms and the rear end, i heard that when you take it off you cant line em back up with the mounting holes without some special tool to pull it back into place,
i was also afraid that the rear would shift out of alignment
do you need an alignment after the control arms are removed?

and also where should the jack stands go when you are ready to drop the rear down?

Check my tech pages, SFC install.

Special Tool? You don't need one. Jackstands--We left them on the rear. Don't forget the torque arm is still connecting the rear to the car. If I was actually dropping the rear I'd leave them there, then disconnect the torque arm. Have a jack under the pumpkin. Jack it up, having someone stabilize the rear. Pull the stands, then lower the rear.

Alignment will be fine, it's not even something you can adjust, AFAIK.

LCA Re-installation Briefing:

Put an O-Ring screw thing through one of the holes in the LCA. Attatch come-a-long to it and tranny crossmember. Start cranking, put bolt in. More detail on site though.

There's no special tool to remove the LCA's or the rearend. Just unbolt the shocks, LCA's, torque arm, and the brake lines and the rearend should come out pretty easily. When you put it back in, just put a little grease on the bushings for the LCA's and slide them back into the brackets, then bolt them in. It's pretty simple really.
