drivetrain question
drivetrain question
i have a 83 firebird that was orig 6 cyl, still have the orig rear in it. can i use the v8 driveshaft from a v8 with a turbo 350, or do i need to swith the rear. i am eventually gonna swap it but i want to get the car up and running for now.
so aslong as i get a 82 driveshaft because of the turbo 350 it should still work. ive read that the rears are about the same in v8 and v6 somewhere, other then the gear and the one wheel peal. is that true? if it is ill just get a spool and a gear and be all good right. the car is a weekend warrior. basicly would just get drove to the street race and back.
Correct me if I'm wrong but a TH350 is shorter than the 700R4, thus a longer driveshaft. Any stock F-Body '82+ driveshaft will work. If you do need a stock d/s, I've got a stock steel one I'll give you for $5+shipping.
