If you're changing the exhaust and you dont have emissions testing, there's no reason to put it back on.

However, I'm in California, and I need to have cats. I dont think my power numbers or ET are hurt by them. Unlike Mr. LordMetal, who's 15 second ET's without a cat are similar to the Honda's he makes fun of.

Stock cats suck, but the aftermarket ones are very good, and cost less than $100. Check out CarSound cats.

Catco cats flow very well too. My point was if you value clean air, then running a cat is the way to go. Its not going to hurt power enough to where you need to remove it. Im into the 12's (00 SS) and im running 2 cats, i have 330 rwhp on an internaly stock motor with no headers.....When i get headers, I will be getting a catted Y pipe for them as well. If you live in a highly populated metopolitan area, you know how bad the smog gets, so im just trying my best to keep my contribution to the smog to a minimum.

Yes. No one is saying that the loss on a good cat is minimal but the cost is still there. It would be cheaper to stick on a gutted out cat and leave it till they mandate a check then spend the money. If you don't have to, I can't justify spending a couple hundred dollars.

I have all new emissions stuff for my car. It's all new because I removed it when the car was new, I'm saving it for the emission tests.

Cats don't really clean up the enviroment that much, unless your car isn't maintained well.

Like I said before, it hurts the wallet any way you look at it. so bottom line is you have negligible losses in power with bigger losses in the wallet. Like I said to AKLAIM "You pay for it and he will install it."
