No emissions = No cat

Either ditch it all together or just get a crowbar, something with a long handle and gut the thing.

No emissions, so dont use a cat. All it will do is rob HP.

Wow I cant belive how many people favor dirty nasty air. Technology has made great advancements with catalysts and now a good high flow cat only takes 1-2 hp. I think clean air is worth the small hit in power.

Well, here is my take on it--and we don't have any emmisions regulations in Alberta.

If your system already comes with a good high flow, low hp loss catalytic converter then use it. You paid for it and if it is only going to cost 1 or 2 hp, then it is basically a non-issue.

But if you can also purchase it without the converter, or the converter is a real hp hog, and you don't have emmisions regulations, ditch it.

I don't have one and I don't lay awake at night over it.

You buy it and he'll put it on. Yes you are right that the good ones take 1-2 HP but the cost is a couple hundred dollars and the cost of a test pipe is much less.

First off, calm down lordmetal! Dang, he didn't mean to upset anyone.

Aklaim, I agree with you. Provided you already have the Random Tech, etc Cat. They are really expensive dude! If they were cheaper, I'd be all up for it. I just can't justify giving up a cam, intake, etc just for cleaner emissions.

For about #330 apiece, if they don't have emission testings and what not, I can't see spending that kind of money. I did because they might start testing in my area sometime.
