Distributor wiring order..

I've got a friend with an 84 Z28 IROC with a 5.7L v8 swapped in.. the problem is in the distributor wiring, he didn't make note of which wires go to which plugs when he replaced it and now he doesn't know which are which.

So if anybody can tell me the plug order on the distributor cap, or direct me to a site with the diagram, I would greatly appreciate it.

The car isn't starting although it cranks firm and tries to start.

Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

If this is the front of the engine

1 2
3 4
5 6
7 8

is the cylinder arrangement.

On the distrib, you start from the lug and go clockwise. In your pic, the wires across the back will be 1-8-4-3 (from right to left) and across the front they'll be 6 (red) 5 (yellow) 7 (blue) 2(pink).
