Did my hatch motor burn out?
Did my hatch motor burn out?
1990 RS.
As you all know, the cars have electric hatch motors that pull the hatch down electronically the last two inches once you pull it down and click it into place.
Last night I popped the hatch with the vacuum assist which prompted the motor to pop the hatch up a couple inches so I could lift it up manually, as is normal. However when I shut the hatch, it just went all the way down (looking as if it was all the way shut) and never clicked/caught the electric motor to pull it down-it just went all the way down manually, and now it won't actually latch shut, it just sits there but I can pull it back up if I want.
Did my hatch motor burn out? How much can I expect to spend if this is the case?
