Damper for engine

Need to get a harmonic damper for my engine. Swapping a 305 for a 350 w/ voterc heads and LT-4 Hot Cam on my 92 RS. Need input as to which size/brand to get. Any input would greatly be appreciated.

Unless you are planning some high revving, why not go witht he stock one? If you are going to spin it up that high you should get your rotating assembly balanced first.

I am planning on getting it balanced but need to get a damper. I already ordered the external balanced flexplate but need to get the damper.

Did you say "externally balanced flexplate?" Because that won't work on a 350....externally-balanced denotes parts used for a 3.75" stroke 400 crank. If you're using a regular 350 crank (3.48" stroke) you need an internally-balanced flexplate and damper.

Stock works fine as long as it hasn't slipped and you check the balance on it. If you're set on aftermarket, Fluidampr makes the best.

Maybe I was missed informed. I was told that some chevy 350 were externally balanced. This doesn't look good now especially now that I just purchased the item (flexplate) on line.

All SBC 350's are were internally balanced. Late model (1-piece rear main seal) engines do have a small counterweight on the flexplate, but it's still classified as an internally balanced engine. The counterweight is just to accomodate the new seal design.

Make a phone call to wherever you ordered the part and tell them you clicked the wrong button or something....they shouldn't have any trouble changing your order (unless it was already shipped.)

The smaller one (although I thought it was 6.25") should be the one you need.
