Is it really supposed to be this stiff?
I wonder if it can be switched out with a newer model? (from a 4th gen, or even 1995+ GM truck?). Im used to my truck's, which is so very easy to use. After driving the car and moving over to the truck, I almost break it off because I get used to the car's stiffness.

 

if it works i wouldnt worry about it. on my car i have an on/off switch and another switch on the steering wheel. it workes 1/2 the time
