could this be a le1 car?

Hi, Just went and looked at another 86 iroc. Its a 5 speed car with t-tops and heres the strange part no a/c. It also has 4 wheel disc brakes. The owner never said anything about it being a le1 car.Anyone know how to tell if it a le1 car?

i dont know if its a 1le or not.. the rpo codes would tell you, thats what i would look for, its either in the hatch glove box, or in the center console box. some cars were able to be ordered without ac, and most of those were sold in the northern part of the country, where is this car located rougly(state)

Its not uncommon for people to hack the A/C systems out.

IIRC the 1LE did not make its appearance until 1988 or 1989. Check thirdgen.org history section for the real story. Even then, I think the mere existence of T-tops would rule out the possibility of this being a 1LE.

If doesn't have dual-piston aluminum calipers in front, it's decidedly not a 1LE.

(edit: 1LE first showed up in 1988 on a grand total of FOUR Camaros. 1LE, for all practical purposes, didn't really start until 1989.)

Not possible, you just ran across a low optioned car. They were common then.

1LEs can come with a factory radio . My 91 1LE has radio, p/s, p/b. p/m and p/w. Its confirmed as a 1LE by having GM run the VIN# and have papers to prove. I do know that 1LEs will not have AC or fog lights
