cooling system

I have this stupid overheating problem on my 89 iroc Z28. it has a 350 with a auto tranny. Over several years every part in the cooling system has been changed, and it still over heats. One thing I did notice is that only one cooling fan will turn on when the engine hits 180 or whatever the thermal switch is set at.

Can somebody tell me what the hell could be wrong...is there only suppose to be one fan on or what. If something else could be wrong...please dont hesitate to let me know

Thanks
Carlos

The other fan only runs when you have the A/C on. I have 180 deg T-Stat and my fan is controled by my chip. The one fan runs at speeds below 35 MPH and shuts off over 35 this helps with low speed cooling. My Temp stays within 180/200 deg's with the A/C off and higher with it on, in stop and go trafic. Everything is normal at highway speeds.

Also check to see if you have the air dam installed under the car. If it is missing this could be part of your cooling problems
