cooling fans won't come on?

When i first got the car it had a 160 degree thermo, 176 degree on/166 degree off fan switch and when i rebuilt the engine and put everything back together, the fans wouldnt come on and the car was running really rich. So i decided to stick all the stock crap back in...195 thermo and a w/e fan switch (idk what it is)...neway the fans dont kick in at all. Any suggestions?

I'm not 100% sure but I think there should be a relay that actually turns on the fan when the ecm tells it too. Find the relay and test it to make sure it still works. If you don't know how to do this, here's a quick way... Find out what relay pins connect to the coil. There should only be two. Connect one side to ground and the other side to +12v. When the circuit is complete you should hear it click. No click, then it's bad. If it does click then you may want to check the wiring running to the relay for shorts.

loudmouth, check your knock sensor plug and your fan switch plugs. reverse them. the 2 plugs are identical and are easily swapped.
