cooling fan

i just finished swaping in a 327 into my v6 car and was wondering if the water pumps were different so the fan would fit, was the size was the fan different. i'm pretty sure that it was a clutch fan. my fan seems to not fit and i just wanted to know what the v8's had from the factory.

I don't know for certain, but I believe you will need a v8 radiator and the v8 fan + shroud... or go the easy route and get an electric fan. They are pretty much universally compatable.

Re: cooling fan

We probably would need to see exactly why it doesn't fit to give you a good answer, but I would say most likely that you need a fan/shroud combo that is specifically made for 3rd gens with small blocks. The 327 almost certainly didn't come with your car (unless you destroked its 350) so the fan that came with it is probably made for whatever car it came out of. I personally would get a 3rd gen electric fan + shroud from a junkyard and buy a new motor for the fan, then wire it to a switch or to come on with the ignition turned on.
