Question Coolant Temp Sensor

where is the coolant temp sensor located on TPI engines, is it one of the harnesses near the TB? And what are some syptoms of a faulty sensor?

It would depend on exactly what the failed position of the sensor was but most probably it would be no or low temp. From that you would get higher richer idle, richer while cruising and the fan won't come on when the car gets hot. It is one of the two sensors just below the TB.
The temp gauge is powered from a different sensor so what you see on the gauge is not what the ecm sees.

Another symptom of a fail CTS is your fans will not work. I just had this happen to me a few months back. It is located right under the TB on the right side. VERY easy to change out.

Sorry just reread the previous post and he covered what I just said. Sorry about a "double" post.
