I doubt it will do much if anything for you. I don't see where the "cold air" is comming from, it's still sucking in the engine bay air an open element would, possibly from a slightly cooler spot. The more interesting ones use the tpi airbox to get cold air, or even make up ram air boxes to go behind the grill (although the ram air probably doesn't do much).

well if ya really want to pimp your ride with a cai then get a street scoop
since the tb for that is baisically like a carp i dont know why it wouldnt work
but then youd have to cut a hole in your hood
but i think the scoops look sweet as hell
but thats the only ram air cai i can think of for tbi's

Aftermarket 14x3" drop-base open element air cleaner plus a cold air kit from these guys:

www.ramairbox.com

You'll probably like the end result more, but it'll cost you a fair bit more, too.

Check out the TBI forum over on Thirdgen.org for more info. The air cleaner assy. isn't the main restriction on a stock 305 TBI engine.

I took one of those kits and connected it to the a TPI air intake and it looks sweet and works great. I'll have to see if I can dig up some pics.

Re: COLD AIR INTAKE for TBI V8's

teh first thing to overcome with tbi/carb is the volume of air, not the temp.
teh stock air box is a complete POS.
the best and easiest fix is a flat base 3x14 open element air cleaner. if you want you can also run a 2.5x14 open element and a K&N extreme flow lid.
