my friend has a 92 TBI 305 LO3.
he is getting a code 32. which is EGR system failure.

we dont know where to start. What should we look at or test first? EGR solenoid?

check the vacume lines got to the egr solenoid and the egr valve. then check electrical connectors. it might also be a short or bad egr valve or egr solenoid or possibly the ecm.

 

if it is the egr valve...put a blockoff plate in its place and get rid of the POS

 

u can test to see if its the EGR valve or not...with the car semi-cool start it up and let it idle,take ur hand and push up on the bottom (up underneath) plate of the EGR valve up. if it stalls or runs crappy,thats not the problem,if it stays running normal (should be running crappy) when u push it up,then thats the problem.

yes,check the vacuum lines/line to it as well.
