chip interchange

Does anyone know for sure if a chip from a 1989 camaro 350 tpi will work in a 1988 formula 350 tpi. Thanks

Didnt they go SD in 89? or was that 90?

It was '90. '88 and '89 should interchange just fine IIRC.

Didn't they elliminate the 9th, cold start injector in 89?

Oh Chit I forgot. but it should still work. Everyone tells ya that an 89 is the chip you use if you are putting a HSR in a 88 or 87 Iroc.

My car was a 91 with an auto and it had a 4 letter word stamped on it. Mine was AUJP. If your old one matches the new one, it is safe to use.

I believe 88 and 89 were both MAF. If they eliminated the cold start injector, won't the ECM be expecting more fuel when starting? That might make cold starts a little harder.
