Changing The FUEL PUMP !

Well, I am going to change the intank fuel pump.
I am going to get the Walbro fuel pump, should i get the high or standard pressure one? also should I get the one for $100 which is just the pump or get the one for $165 that makes it adjustable?
Also any tips on changing it would be great.

An OEM replacement should be more than adequate. As far as adjustable, you can accomplish that with any pump as long as you have an adjustable regulator.

I am sorry the pump isn't adjustable, it come with a new wiring harness and some other things to make it perform better, Its a Racetronix kit. Also where can I get better fuel lines, cause the ones I have are rusted and I want to change them.

I stuck the Walbro 255 high volume in my car to push gas to a 305 tbi @ 15 psi. For $107 I figured what the hell.

The pumps are both 255L/Hr @ 13.5V.
The high pressure pump has a more effecient motor so it draws less current than the LP verson at the same operating pressure. The price difference between the two pumps is apx. $10.00.
If you are planning on making large HP then you should consider the Racetronix fuel pump system:

i just installed the racetronix kit in my buddies 383/GTA it is a GREAT kit. very easy install. i would recomend it to anyone. i can verify that the pressure gauge stayed rock steady at 48psi on a 500hp motor with 30lbs injectors

IMHO, if you have any plans for modifications, don't mess around, spend the few extra dollars now, and get the racetronixs kit.

Racetronix, do you sell your pump harnesses as kits for people who may already have a new pump??
I know they've been doing this type upgrade with the Turbo Regals for some time, but this is the first one I seen for the F-Bodies..
Iwas going to fab one but would be interested in pricing one aready produced..

The complete series II harness with booster interface, body-to-battery ground upgrade system and battery nuts is $84.99. It is more expensive than the Buick harness as the connectors are not as common and the female connector has to be custom made.

I went with a Bosch in tank elec fuel pump good up to 550hp (part#300-178). I have an adjustable regulator and the set up works great. I am making 388rwh, 437rwtq with a 11# procharger and I get a consistant 80-90 lbs fuel pressure
It's a pain to change the in tank pump, but it is quieter.
Hope this helps a little
