Changing cam in car

I'm about to change my cam while it's in the car. Any tricks or things I should watch out for. I don't have to disconect the condensor do I? Thanks for any info.

If you are very careful you won't have to disconnect the condensor, but you will have to move it out of the way a little bit. The fans and radiator will have to come out first.

What cam are you installing?

Just the obvious stuff. Intake, waterpump, fans, rad timing cover etc. Its not really all that hard. Just curious though...I never knew a 1LE could come with AC.

The B4C package comes with A/C and a radio along with a lot of other performace stuff. Making tthe 1LE and B4C the ultimate combo.

Re: Changing cam in car

im not sure if its the same on your motor since yours is a 350 TPI and mine is a carb 305 but i had to take my intake manifold off and valve covers to loosen the rockers and pull the pushrods out to take the lifters out, but im not too keen on which motors were roller motors, yours probably is, i have no idea, someone else should chime in on this

but i know youll need to take your distributor out too

Ya. The intake needs to come off...rockers need to be loosened and the pushrods pulled so that the lifters can be removed.

Depends on the cam, but any cam will benefit from tuning.
