CD player isnt getting power..need help please

First off this is in my 1990 Formula.

I just got the car and it came witha really crappy Koss radio, so I decided to use the brand new Alpine 9821 that I had in my 90 RS. The cd player was working fine in the Camaro.

I also had to use the radio connectors out of the RS since the ones in the Formula were missing.

I spliced the new connectors on and installed the deck, but it wouldnt work if the lights were on, so i checked all my connections and realized that I had swapped 2 wires(black and brown) I fixed that, but now the deck isnt powering up.

I grabbed the stock radio from the RS and plugged that in. I get static coming from all 4 speakers, but no reception. If I put a cassette in, I can hear the music but theres still a lot of static. This tells me that the radio is getting power, right?

If anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate the help, since driving around in silence really sucks.

wow dude, I wish I had the answer for you, but my 85 camaro did the same thing when i installed my cd player from my caprice. It would not power up and everything seemed hooked up fine. Finally I gave up, but decided to re try it like 4 days later, and it just worked. :/
