Question Carburation Intakes

Anybody out there ran both the Performer RPM and the Action Plus? Looking for a intake to use on a 350 chevy with Sportsman 2 heads, 2600 rpm converter, and 3.23 gears. Trans is a 700R4.

What do ya think???

well i have the preformer, but on my new engine i am going with the preformer air gap intake from edelbrock, and a 750 carb, on my 355. but the preformer is a good intake manifold.

Did you previously have a stock manifold. I have yet to see anyone post anything about seeing a major improvement going from stock manifold to Performer. They look very similiar to me.

I got a feeling you'll need an RPM style intake that'll get you 6500 or so RPM since those heads are pretty big(200cc intakes, right?) for a 350 cube motor. It really only matters if you are looking to get the most power possible out of the combination. Big heads/big cam/small cubes=Big RPM power with the right intake and headers Bottom end torque is sacrificed a little bit but that 2600 rpm stall you have is the perfect answer Goodluck and happy motoring!

Just keep in mind that the RPM can be hard to fit under a thirdgen hood.

Mine fits fine with an Edelbrock 750, 1" drop base cleaner, and 14x3 K&N. Had to use a banjo fitting on the fuel inlet to get around the drop-base, but thats no big deal. Just make sure your air cleaner stud doesn't extend more than 1/4-1/2" above the cleaner lid.
