I would say to invest in a good powermaster starter and you shouldn't have any more problems with it. I've got a PM9500 on my supercharged LT1 and I've got one on my GTA (well, ok so it's sitting in the garage at the moment, but it was on there).

My whole starter cost about $60 after I returned the core. Took about an hour to install becuase I am slow. I got it from Advanced Auto Parts.

The one thing ford did right was to mount the solenoid on the fender to avoid this type of problem. You could probably rig up a ford solenoid and connect it to the starter motor on your car...just a thought?

It was changed out yesterday & the car was fixxed.
