Cam questions

I want to run a nice NASTY cam in my 5.7 Z28. My question is do I need to replace the lifters? I know on my old chevelle I had to replace them when I ran a bigger cam but it didnt have a hydraulic roller cam. I love a nice "lumpy" cam. Anyone have some suggestions on some cam specs. I wanna run around .525 or higher lift with roller rockers and new push rods. Should I replace the lifters? thanks

Re: Cam questions

If I were you, I'd just call Comp Cams and talk to their tech support guys. Tell them what you have, what you want, and let them make a suggestion as to what would work best. They know their stuff. They do have some real aggressive hydraulic roller cams in their bag of tricks, I'm sure you'd be pleased.

Make sure your heads and valve springs can support the lift you want.
