caliper problem

my year iroc came with 2 style calipers: cast iron and aluminum. the aluminum caliper is dual piston. the calipers on my car are finned aluminum calipers except that they only have 1 piston. i'm so confused. i've been told they are not 1LE and i'm pretty sure they're not cast iron (they didn't look like the picture i was shown). will the dual piston caliper replace the single piston caliber without having to change too much, ie. rotors, brake lines? also, what kind of caliper DO i have??

The only car to get front (2) piston aluminum calipers were the 1LE Cars, which I think you do not have.

Stock four wheel Disc brake cars before 1989 had front/rear 10.5" rotors with cast iron calipers and single piston.

Later cars starting with 1989 had 10.5" front rotors and cast iron calipers with single piston & the rear had 11.655 rotors and Aluminum PBR calipers with single piston. Again this is for a stock four wheel disc brake car. These same rears came stock on the 1LE cars also.

yes, my year iroc came with aluminum calipers. but advanced auto parts gave me the 2 piston caliper...not the single piston. she entered the info into the computer correctly too? i'm just confused on why i got the 2 piston when my car has the single piston?

Does the caliper mount the same? If it does swap both of them (fronts or backs)out to the twin piston.

Only 2-piston caliper is the front 1LE one and it will not bolt up on either the front or rear mounting brackets. Not the first time a parts store made a error on this.

i knew there wasn't something right with my order. i went back up to advanced and told her i don't think i have the right caliper, i need a single piston one. she looked it back up and said, "ooops, we gave you the front one, ha ha ha." ya, laugh it *****, now i gotta wait till saturday to pick it up. oh well, its all good now, my caliper is coming in, and after a year, my iroc will be back on the road
