WEll it depends if you want a stick or not. You can get an iroc with an auto and a 350. Those you can get into the 13's really easy, with a cam, some head work, and an exhaust If you want a stick get an 84 stick you could get a 3.73 from the factory, and with the same work you could get there. Good luck finding one, and I hope you get one and join the family

87 up you can get a 350 Z28 or IROC. They will be auto trans cars. With a little work they will run high 13.9. To go faster it cost more. Check out my sig and see my web page for more details.

Well if you want a 3rd gen and wanna run 13's I'd say go with a 350 Irocz/Z28. Either of those two cars would be good. They are very similiar cars. Iroc has a different appearance package and different suspension options but the basics of the cars are the same. A 350 car only comes with the 4 speed 700r4 automatic. They will run mid/high 14s if they're in good tune. Intake work, complete exhaust you can get high 13's without too much money. However after that it gets fairly expensive because the intake runners and lower intake manifold and heads are pretty restrictive. High 13's will be easy mid/low 13's will be fairly expensive.

Look for a 90-92 350 IROC/Z28. It may be hard to find, but if you get a good running one, you'll be in the 13s pretty easy.

Look at my times in my sig. Will run that all day on street tires (unless it's 90 degrees out). It's a very reliable daily driver with 138k on it.

if you don't want to do a engine/tranny swap and that kind of stuff stick to a 88+ 350.
if you can deal with swaping an engine then any year will do.
just know it will take alot of money to get that 305 into the 13s, better spent on a 350.
go to www.thirdgen.org great large tech only site about 3rd gen f-bodys
I would only go 88+ and 90 IROCS (semi-rare) and 91-92 Zs are the best though you will not find any 350 t-tops in those years. (original)

What about a 87 Iroc?????????????????

As with the 91-92 Zs you can find them with t-tops a friend of mine had one she just traded it in for a 98 C5 vert. The 91-92 Zs some of the dealers had them shipped out to ASC & had T-tops put in They were Dealer Optioned.l
