I wouldnt get rid of it, the 350 knock sensor is less sensitive that might solve your problems.

I know it has never had any real knock I run 94 octane in it and it only shows KN. when I shift gears real hard with the cutout open.I just want a simple way to disable it.Cheap too.

Like the man said use the less sensitive one...The problem is you never want it until you crack a piston...

If you really want to delete it here's how:

Buy a 25 cent 3900 ohm resistor from Radio Shack. Run the KS wire to one side and attach the other side of the resistor to a good ground. Done. ECM will think it's still there (no check engine light) but, obviously, it won't ever hear engine knock again.

Why it works: the ECM only knows the KS is there by checking resistance to ground through the KS wire. The stock sensor happens to be about 3900 ohms. Check it with an ohmmeter if you want to convince yourself.

That's funny- I did EXACTLY that on a car once. Run the KS on the street like normal, then switch it over to the resistor when going racing. You need an SPDT switch (also available from Radio Shack). Single Pole, Double Throw. If you don't get a weatherproof one it'll start getting "flaky" on you within a year. Ask me how I know!

Also, on most SPDT switches the poles it connects are the OPPOSITE of the direction you flip the switch. Ask me how I know that one, too!
