Question Berlinetta, good bad, ugly?

So I've just bought a 1986 Camaro Berlinetta, it's the 305 engine, and automatic tranny. I had never even heard of Berlinetta until I saw the car lol. It has electronic gauges and stuff, I'm not too fond of the stereo console, but you cant have it all. I do like seeing the exact MPH I'm going, instead of a rough estimate heh.

So what was the Berlinetta supposed to be from the factory? Just a luxury option? Does it go any slower than your typical Z28 of the same year (not IROC)? I'd like opinions heh. Thanks =)

It was intended as a luxury Camaro, but they did a poor job. IMO I don't like the interior, exterior, drivetrain... pretty much the whole thing.

But, the optional engine on the Berlinetta was the same as the base engine in the Z28 and early IROC, the LG4 carbed 305. Performance was nearly identical, pathetic.

Thumbs down Re: Berlinetta, good bad, ugly?

It was GM's try to attract the female car buyer, but it did not work. The Berlinetta was a gimmick car with no performance options. Not my first choice for a Camaro. Come look at my BERLINETTA.
