Red face Beefing up the 10-bolt

With all my talk about a 9-bolt swap, I may just beef up the 10-bolt. I've been looking at 2 parts:

SLP Take Off- http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...&SHOWEMAIL=Off

Thunder Racing "Complete Gear Package" - http://www.thunderracing.com/index.c...ategoryid=1062

$100 for the posi and $400 for the gear package.

I need someone to explain carriers/series to me. A carrier is the center section ("pumpkin") correct? If I get 3 series gears and a 3 series posi will it all fit in my 3.08 Open 2 series carrier? Thanks!

the carrier is the actual posi......... http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...&SHOWEMAIL=Off

there are series 2 and 3 (for normal people, there are probably others for extreame gears)

serires 2 is 3.08 and lower(number), series 3 is 3.23 and higher(number)

all you need to change a series is the carrier and gears(and assosiated bearings, ect.,)

also, for even more durability, you may want a T/A cover and a solid pinion spacer when you get all this installed

The kit from Thunder I was talking about includes the cover. Is the Solid Pinion Spacer a replacement for the stock Crush sleeve?

yes, and when installing, shims are used to set preload, not the crushing of the sleeve
