Bare bones TBI

In addition to my '91 RS, I have a '64 Jeep pickup with a 258 straight 6. It has a 2-barrel Weber carb on it, and I can't get it to idle for anything and it wants to bog out and die when I stop the truck. I'm thinking of stripping a TBI system out of a 305 car at the junkyard and putting it on the truck.....can anyone tell me exactly what I have to have to make it run? Will the lack of a computer controlled distributor be a problem? Which sensors do I need and which ones can I eliminate? TIA for any replies.....

If you go with the 7477 truck computer over the 8746 car computer you wont have to worry about the cts, so that'd be one less. Other than that, knock, tps, iac, and distributor. Im probably forgetting a million things lol.

Id probably be easier to track down the gremilns in the carb system though.

So the computer controlled distributor is an absolute requirement? If so then the whole idea is out the window...
