Unhappy Bad problems at idle......(please help)

Alright, this morning I get in my car and turn it on. The check engine light comes on (like always) but usually goes off after about a minute. When it went off this morning it flickered alot and then went off, and at the same time the engine died. The light usually goes off when the engine goes into it's "warmed-up" mode(can't remember exact name). Anyways, it would start, but wouldn't hold idle, died instantly. IF I kept it revved over 1000 rpm's it stayed alive and ran fine. I drove it to my dad's shop but had to hold the gas and brake anytime I wanted to stop. On the highway though it did fine(a little rough but nothing bad) and the engine light stayed on. I got here and let it sit for 30 minutes, started it back up and it ran FINE!!!!

What the hell could this be? IAC valve? MAF? TPS? I have a small vacuum leak behind A/C controls, could that cause something like this with my cam(110 lsa) at idle? I just want to make sure it doesn't break down anywhere.

Thanks for any help I can get,

Kyle

Well, getting the trouble code (or codes) out of the computer and cross referencing it to see what the computer thinks is fouled up would be a good start.

There is no way anyone can answer the question you asked with the info provided. It could be any one of those things and a hundred others.

I know TPI doesn't like low vacuum. The 110LSA on your cam isn't helping, usually a 112 or higher is recommended...that vac leak might just put it over the edge. Try hunting down the other end of the line (engine end) and unhooking it and plugging the hole. If it runs better thats your problem.

Then again it could be a sticky EGR, or a dirty IAC. Depending on the local weather, it could be condensation in the fuel. It's real hard to tell without knowing what codes it's throwing.
