Post Automatic Trunk Latch Problem.

the problem is...it dont work. I have installed a new motor for it and have hooked everything back up and it still doesnt work...does anyone have any suggestions???

Are you sure it's getting power? If you wire it to the battery does it work or not? Are you sure your grounds are good? Does the circuit have continuity?

I took the assembly partly apart & after looking at the flimsy plastic housing etc, I pushed the part the slides up/down in the down position, & placed some weight on the rear hatch (not real heavy, but heavy enough to make a good seal with the rubber gasket). I then got into the car with a drill & drilled a couple of holes on either side of the outside metal frame, & inserted "set" screws that now old the sliding part in one position. My rear hatch now opens/closes like a regular trunk or hatch with all the electric motor crap!
