92 Firehawk?? I would think because SLP made it and included an all alum. 383. That had to have been the car.

The Dana 44 rear end was never an option on production f-bodies. It was available from the aftermarket such as GMPP, however. Or on the Firehawks from SLP, like said above.

And before anyone says it, the 89 Turbo Trans Ams had 3.27 ratio 9-bolts, not Dana 44's.

Hink, if you're looking for a wrecked 3rd gen Firehawk to get one from... I'd also suggest looking for a Do-Do bird or a wooly mammoth.

Actually a friend of mine just bought an aftermarket D44. He got it with 4.09 gears and I forget what carrier/diff but he only paid like $1000 for it complete less brakes.

I'll let you know more later today after I talk to him.

Ok Hink, i just talked to Greg...bad news... he's had that rearend sitting in a garage for over a year, so he didn't just buy it, he just installed it

Anyhoo he got it from SLP when they were having a clearance sale on them. He said even if they don't advertise having any, to try calling and asking if they have one laying around anywhere. He said there may be a chance one or two leftovers are in a warehouse some place.

BTW...I stand corrected on the price....he paid almost $2000 with Moser axles and the good diff.

Good luck.
