11.7 @ 133 last month. Going tomorrow to try and get a respectable time to go with my mph.

383cid, 700r4 (as long as it lasts), 3.50 gears, .... oh and blow thru D1sc

Mild gears, od tranny, make it very streetable. 1hr drive to track- weekend cruiser.

TPIS minirammed 385. 30 lb injectors. AFR195 cylinder heads. Edelbrock TES headers. Comp 230/236 112 LSA hydraulic roller cam. FAST fuel injection. 10.6:1 compression. T56 retrofit. 19 miles per gallon. 12.40 at 114 MPH on street tires.

Idles well in traffic, and is at home on the track or idling for hours during the Woodward Dream cruise. If I put drag radials onto the car it would probably break into the 11's. It dynoed at 396 RWHP on the Livernois dyno last August.

What for an intake are you using? What cam? What year car? I can't find superchargers for an 87 as it's not a serpentine system.

Anyone done a serpentine conversion? What do I need from a donor car?

Sounds like the 396rwhp t/a needs a tune or something because I've seen multiple guys running mid 11s with 385rwhp. You said it, drag radials but you're going to be hard pressed to drop a full second on D/R.

maybe the elevation sucks...ive seen cars from here that run like 13.8 go down to houston and run 12.8/12.9s

ohh we missed one, density altitude. we raced on a day here where DA was 6800 feet i was just waiting for someone to pass out from lack of oxygen...then there are days at HRP where DA can be -500 feet...man that would be nice.

very true!
unlike here in vegas a good DA will put roughly 1600' but good luck on that 1 day per year prolly would not be a track day anyway

Re: Any 10 or 11 sec. 3rd gens, in here PLZ

Very easy to accomplish so long as parts are picked out and match/work with each other-here is everything in my car:

86 Firebird, 388 chevy, stock .060 350 block, stock 400 crank, stock 5.7 rods, KB Hyperutectic 11:5.1 slugs, Holley 950 HP , Bullet solid roller 255/262 .621/.621 cam, Victor Jr. intake, 2" open spacer, AFR 210 heads, Autolite AR3923 plugs .035 gap, Comp Pro Mag roller rockers, BTE stud girdle, Hooker Super Comp 1 3/4" headers, dual 3" exhaust into Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, 31x19 Howie aluminum radiator, MSD pro billet distributor, Blaster 3 coil, MSD 3step, 8.5 mm MSD wires, Aeromotive A2000 electric fuel pump, 4600 stall, TH400 manual vavlebody/reverse pattern, with JW trans brake, 1350 yoke, B&M Pro Ratchet shifter, Ford 9" w/ 4.11 gears 1350 yoke disc brakes, Spohn tubular LCA, Jegster adjustable torque arm, Lakewood 50/50 rear shocks, rear Wolfe Craft Anti-Roll bar, Lakewood 90/10 Darg struts, Moroso trick springs, Weld Draglites 15x5 front 205/75-15 radials, 15x10's 5.5" BS with Hoosier Quik Time Pro DOT slicks 28x11.5, interior from 98 firebird retro-fitted with full Auto Meter Phantom gauges.

Car gets driven ALOT on the street between race weekends (gets raced almost every weekend all summer till tracks close for year) Street manners are excellent, I installed a reserve can for vacuum and they work perfectly, idles all day in stoplight traffic, runs 150* most of the time and hottest it gets in summer on 100+ days is 180*, tranny temp typically stuck on 120*, will get upto 180* at the end of a pass or if I'm beating the snot out of it on the street with no real cooling down time.

No, I think the problem is just my launch and shifting. I grannied it off the line to try and save the rear axle and avoid wheelspin, but it always lost traction anyway at 3800 RPM. Not only that, I superheated the clutch which eventually died from all the slipping that I did.

I think the horsepower is there, but I never managed a 60-foot time better than 1.95 seconds. Plus, I always let it slip to redline in first gear. I probably should have short-shifted to second at 3700 to avoid all the wheelspin.

Then again, the dyno graph is posted below in my SIG. There certainly is room for improvement in that graph, especially under 4400 RPM. That was purely a SOTP tune by me, on the street, with an Accel DFI gen 6. Perhaps next year I'll get a better tune going since I now have converted to the latest F.A.S.T. XFI ecu. I'll probably buy a days worth of dyno time before the NFME event in May at Indianapolis.

Re: Any 10 or 11 sec. 3rd gens, in here PLZ

12.16@113 with some traction is my best so far...the 60 footer was 1.82 with slicks completly stock rear suspension...i launched it off the 6,300 rpm revlimiter and it held together but i broke the tranny during the 1-2 powershift..that would of been my 11 sec pass...

motor is pretty basic really...stock 95 LT1 shortblock with LT4 heads..comp 224/230 .510/.515 (not an XE so it makes more torque). a gmpp dual plane carbed intake, a holley 650 double pumper carb (stock when made passes) msd dist and ignition heddman 1 5/8 longtubes and a 3 inch dual exhaust
all this through a WC t-5 tranny and 3.42 gears...
the motor made 360RWHP and almost 380rwtq...this is with ZERO tune on the carb....i dunno this motor just makes the power...like the carb loves the 224/230 cam and LT4 heads...

Tell you the truth, I dont know what it is. It might be spark knock retard, which was NOT hooked up on the Accel GEN 6 DFI that I was using. I hope that the new ECU will spit out better numbers. I know drivability is already a lot nicer and I only have an hour or two worth of tuning into it.

That answered my question
What bolt ons? What modifications? What car? What 1/4 time? What HP? What N20 shot?
